Frequently Asked Questions

How long haS PAIGE been a photographer?

2022 marks a full decade behind the lens. Initially Paige focused solely on portraits and then began working as a wedding photographer’s assistant and second photographer where she quickly became enamored with the adrenaline rush known as weddings. She captured her first wedding in 2014 and the rest is history.

What kind of gear dOES PAIGE work with? DoES PAIGE CArry liability insurance?

For digital work, Paige photographs with professional grade, full frame Sony Alpha bodies (like the Sony A7Riii) and Sony G-Master lenses, along with a variety of other Godox flashes, light stands, MagMod light modifiers, etc. For her film work, she shoots with a Contax 645 and related lenses along with Porta 400H film. As for insurance, she carries a full service liability policy. If your planner or venue needs a copy, just ask.

Do PAIGE offer a second photographer? Do I EVEN need one?

Yes! Paige’s classic coverage includes a second photographer and when her associate photographers don’t have their own weddings, they are often her second photographer. She also enlists a small group of talented full-time photographers that she uses as second shooters when needed.

Should WE book an engagement session?

Engagement sessions are a great way to capture this special season and also the perfect introduction for what to expect on your wedding day. Paige likes to think of it as a trial-run. She often travels for destination and adventure style engagement sessions, as her clients believe being captured in a location that has special meaning brings depth and vibrancy to their story. Engagement sessions are booked at least sixty days in advance and travel is included within 60 miles of Austin.

How many photos will WE receive? And how do we receive them?

On average Paige captures 75-100 images per hour. All photos taken are delivered, less those that are duplicates, blinks, test shots, etc. Her clients appreciate how quick and easy their online gallery is and the seamless ability to print, share and download their images as much as they want.

How many hours of photography coverage do we need?

Usually if you’re having your ceremony and reception in one location with a 20-30 minute ceremony (which is most common) 8 hours is just right. If Paige’s clients are having a longer ceremony or having a church wedding/venue reception, usually 10 hours is a safe bet for them. Clients are always welcome to add additional coverage as they get closer to the big day and their planner has a better sense of the final timeline.

What’s PAIGE'S shooting style?

Paige enjoys being both interactive and discrete with her couples. There will be parts of the wedding day when she will need to be in control in order to accomplish everything that needs to be done while staying on schedule. There will also be moments when you won’t even know she’s there. Paige guides her couples naturally and her editing style is considered classic, light and inspired by film, while also staying rich in color.

How doES PAIGE back up our photos?

Paige’s clients value peace of mind, not just during their session, but also while they wait to see their images. Paige takes data protection seriously, as these photos are her client’s treasured heirlooms. Because of this, she uses a multitude of backup processes to keep images safe, including using equipment that records to two memory cards simultaneously, keeping memory cards until photos are delivered and having the digital files backed up on cloud storage.

DO WE OWN THE COPYRIGHT TO THE IMAGES IN OUR COLLECTION?

Paige Vaughn Photo retains the copyright in order to ensure the editing quality is maintained, but her couples have full rights to print their photos at their discretion.

We’re sMITTEN! How do we MAKE IT OFFICIAL?

Once Paige has answered any questions her clients have and they’ve decided that she’s exactly what they’re looking for, the next step is an invoice and contract - all completed online. When ready you can reserve your date by signing your contract and paying your retainer of 40%. Once paid, the retainer amount is credited against your final balance.
